Thing 15: social bookmarking
This was one of my favorite Things yet because this is one that I think I’ll use most often. I often find myelf needing to return to web sites I’ve spent time looking up and have actually found useful in my classroom. We are required to visit and read all web sites before our kids can view them. I do A LOT of background research for the novels I teach, and I teach three different grade levels…a lot of bookmarking required. Using delicious.com will allow me NOT to have to either remember the web sites (which is impossible) or go searching AGAIN each year (which is time consuming, and I don’t have extra time to waste). Now I can just go to http://delicious.com/ladywarrior and view all my bookmarks easily and quickly. Adding new bookmarks is easy, too…especially when I remembered that the training video in the discovery exercise told me to right click on the site and “open in a new tab”.
